Can I have a Subsidized Rate visit?
Yes, we do offer OHIP Subsidized Rate Consults with a valid referral and health card numbers on file.
Please book your preferred appointment and we will do our best to help you request a valid referral if needed.
Parents are invited to book their own appointments until they are symptom free and on their way to meeting their lactation and feeding goals. New breast or nipple pain? New feeding concern?

How do I prepare for a Virtual Visit?
It is helpful if baby is ready to eat at our appointment. Having a laptop, device stand, or a helper available during your appointment makes it easier for us to see your latch.
Before your appointment we will send you an email with instructions and a link. If it isn’t in your inbox please check your Promotions and Junkmail boxes.
Please use WiFi and not your phone data, unless you have better reception on data. You may have to power down/disconnect from wifi all other devices and sit near your wifi router for best signal. Please make sure your device is fully charged or plugged in, and not on battery saver mode.
When it is time for your appointment please go back to the Email and CLICK the "Start eVisit" Button. Thank you for your patience, your Consult will begin as soon as possible.
When should I book my Prenatal Breastfeeding Class?
Please book your Prenatal Breastfeeding Class at least one month before your due date if possible. Running out of time? Please book your class ASAP. We look forward to helping you prepare to meet your lactation goals!
Can I have a FREE visit? Shouldn't OHIP pay for my entire visit?
We believe that you deserve FREE IBCLC care, and we continue to work with our partners to forge pathways toward fully subsidized IBCLC consults. To this end, we are so pleased to be able to offer you a Subsidized Rate, a valid referral and healthcards is all that's required.

Some families submit their lactation consult receipts (provided following all consults) to their private insurance plans including health spending accounts, for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider to see if lactation consults are covered by your insurance policy.

What is your Cancellation, Payments and Changed Appointments Policy?

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the practitioner's day that could have been given to another family. As such, we require 48 hours notice (2 full business days, not including weekends or holidays) for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Cancelled appointments with less than 2 business days notice are subject to the full visit fee. Cancelled appointments with more than 48 hours notice (2 full business days, not including weekends or holidays) are subject to a $20+HST cancellation fee.
Rescheduling appointments with more than 48 business hours may be done at no charge. Rescheduling fees do not apply if due to Physician or LC unavailability. Refunds are subject to a $20.00+HST admin fee. In the event of a non-sufficient funds (NSF) occurrence, a fee of $20+HST will be charged.
Without a VALID referral or health card number on file, patients will not be eligible for an OHIP subsidized consult with the physician and if they choose to keep the appointment they will be automatically charged the non-subsidized rate to see the IBCLC only. Patients must commit to ensuring parent and baby(ies) will be in attendance for 60 minutes during subsidized appointments and seen by the physician unless not yet born, or consent to paying the non-subsidized rate for a consult with the IBCLC only.
